RenFest Southern Maryland is excited to announce the 2026 storyline of "The Adventures of Robin Hood"! This year, we'll blend authentic medieval history with lighthearted comedy — bringing Robin Hood’s timeless rebellion to life through improvised storytelling and stage combat.
Auditions will be conducted in partnership with Maul Dire Entertainment, LLC (formerly Maul Dire Fight Troupe)
WANTED!
Actors to play roles in the beloved Robin Hood tales and beyond! If interested in a fighting role, you will be asked to learn basic, on-the-spot fight tutorials. All roles will also be asked to participate in our finale.

---Friday, February 6, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
---Saturday, February 7, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Be prepared to arrive on time and stay for the entire audition slot.
The audition will consist of on-the-spot improvised scenes, and if interested in a fighting role in the Robin Hood story, you will be asked to perform basic, on-the-spot fight tutorial. While group songs will be taught during rehearsals, singing is not required at the audition, and no one will be expected to sing solos.

In addition to the main characters, we will be casting many roles that help to bring our Renaissance world to life! Our vibrant village boasts of its quirky residents (or denizens, depending upon who's doing the talking!)
PERFORMANCES
May 23 & 24, 2026. Players will have a range of 30-45 minute shows, and acting/improv will also be conducted throughout the festival grounds during the day (what we call "in the lanes"). Performers are expected on site from 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m both days.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals for most roles will begin the week of February 16th, and the majority will be held in St. Mary's County. Please be prepared to fill out your conflicts at the audition.
