Owner | ProducerSteve Pugh founded Maul Dire Entertainment, LLC (formerly Maul Dire Fight Troupe, LLC) in 2025. From humble beginnings with the inaugural year of RenFest Southern Maryland, Steve has organized a wonderful group of experienced folks to bring historical & fantasy themed stories to the Southern Maryland area through acting, improvisation, and stage combat with this traveling theatrical and stage combat group. Featured at RenFest Southern Maryland, we are an all-encompassing entertainment troupe that will surely thrill audiences with our performances.
Steve Pugh is the Artistic Director for Maul Dire Entertainment, LLC. He began his decent into madness with theatrical acting at age 12. From there , he continued his pursuits in the theatre world acting as well as designing sets, props, lighting, and sound until he stepped into directing in 2021 with the Newtowne Players and moved on to directing the cast for RenFest Southern Maryland.

Fight DirectorErin McNulty is the Fight Director for Maul Dire Entertainment, LLC. Her family joined her local Sarasota Medieval Fair when she was only 11, which means she's been stage fighting on and off for over 19 years. Under the tutorship of Dean Bowden, Branden Schulz, and Tara Connelly, she's learned safe yet entertaining ways of training people to (not-quite) hit each other.
David Norton is the Fight Captain for Maul Dire Entertainment, LLC. Through his many years of experience practicing Iaido, 12 years of stage combat, and 16 years of acting experience, he is well versed in the arts. With his assistance to Erin, they make a wonderfully, well-rounded team to provide safe, entertaining fights to tell compelling stories to patrons.
